VOL 03. EXPLORING ECOSYSTEMS

From towering forests to icy Arctic tundras, to freshwater lakes and streams in our own backyards, ecosystems come in all shapes and sizes—and they’re all worth exploring! This month, we’ve pulled together a collection of hands-on activities to help your students dive into the wonders of ecosystems both near and far. Along the way, they’ll discover simple, meaningful ways we can all pitch in to keep these natural spaces healthy and thriving—for wildlife and for future generations.

• Eco-Scavenger Hunt: An engaging way to explore producers, consumers and decomposers.

• Finding the Caribou: A hands-on activity to introduce conservation research in the Arctic.

• Wildlife Wonders Spring Quest: Support your local ecosystem with this set of fun eco- activities.

• Forests are Ecosystems: Learn more about the richness of forests from a professional.

Full details and links to these activities are found below.
