OCTOBER 2024 |
October is Canadian Circular Economy month and October 21st-27th, is Waste Reduction Week. This month, we’ve got a variety of activities to help your class take action against waste, including: The Fall Radical Revolution Quest, the Shoreline and Schoolyard Saver litter cleanup contest and the plastic-free for a week challenge. There is still time to join the October 2024 session of the Eco-Anxiety to Eco-Action Micro credential. More information can be found below. |
This choose-your-own-adventure quest is suited to any eco-club or class! Each step addresses different types of waste – plastic waste, food waste, and holiday waste – through fun activities. Clear instruction and rewards makes this quest easy and exciting to complete. |
The wind and rain of autumn means litter gets easily transported to waterbodies. Help keep your local waterways clear and protect wildlife by cleaning up litter before it gets there. Join classes across the country in organizing a shoreline or schoolyard cleanup while teaching environmental stewardship to students, plus have the chance to win $100 for your class. How to participate:Complete the Shoreline and Schoolyard Saver ActivitySubmit the entry form including a photo of your class in action! |
Entries submitted by October 30th, 2024 will be entered in a draw to win $100.All participants will receive a personalized certificate of completion! |

Throughout the week, the class checks in and helps each other stay on track. “It started a conversation every day about what we can do to improve our plastic use. By the end of the challenge most students were using reusable containers rather than throw away sandwich bags.”– Our Lady of the Way School (Stratton, ON) |
